Extension offered. Since i have nothing lined up - though ive been interviewing; and have one tomorrow... i must accept.
Yay employment for another month... Wish they'd either make it permanent... getting really sick of wondering - 'Am I Hosed for next moth/week/day etc'

Present season over. Didnt do all that well; nor did i expect to. Gas card nice - especially considering Domo-Kun has major thirst issues.
Everything else pretty much giftcards. Useful. Used WurstBuy one for Azumanga DVD box set. Swapped my Broders one for full share of the Wurst.

Bills mounting for Elf. Even with my employment for the next month settled - we're still gonna be hitup hard for medical stuff. The $400 i'm out already due to the asswipe thief that broke into a bunch of cars in my bldg's undergound parkinglot was needed for other things. Luckily, 'rents will assist on the glasses replacement (already bought) - need 'em for daytime driving yearround.
At least we dont need to cut services for the next month, other than Strinp 'Ision which should go regardless. /ramble |

Parked in my nice snug underground garage last night. Got down there a bit before 6am to go to work - find the car had been broken into, rummaged thru; and had my prescription sunglasses stolen, though nothing else was missing.
I'm pissed.
The garage is 'secured' supposedly... needless to say, Apartment management is going to get a stern talking to at 9am when they open. |

I'm really sick of not knowing where i'm gonna be working come Jan 1st.
Though unlikely, i could be still where i'm at.
It does seem likely that i'll be doing (bleh) Contract work yet again. Problem is - i've ~$370 more in monthly expences now with Domo-Kun; and extra $$$ for insurance.
I despise HRDroids that dont consider those with 5+ years experience (yet without the mythical CompSci degree) unworthy of consideration for a simple Helpdesk/Desktop support position. Seriously. A Csci degree WILL NOT HELP YOU to diagnose peoples PC issues. Unless the position requires extensive network support - Desktop Support should NOT require A+ or MCSE. It's overkill.
That reminds me. As soon as i get enough $ and time to whip thru those certs; i should do so |

Car is all but dead. Struts are shot, drive axle needs replacement. Tires need to be changed. It's leaking oil from multiple spots.

I hate doing inventory.
Especially a 2nd/3rd time.
Apparently - the database ATE all our old information conviniently - since it wasnt 'perfect'.
So we have to rescan everything.
Dumping the results into a .csv seems to me a hell of a lot simpler than going to a SQLDB for no real reason... but hey, thats why they dont pay me the big bucks to make additional work for people.

Ok, so i prolly have plantar fascitis. Most days my feet hurt constantly, just a dull ache usually. When i get up from sitting for a while, it acts up. Occasionally, my knees will hurt as well.
Today i backjammed my knee trying to bend over to scan a monitor for inventory, which shot pain all down my left leg.
Ouch.

Ok, Elfmoogle wanted me to make a real post, so i will i guess.
PEOPLE NEED TO NOT USE FUCKING FLOPPY DISKS!!!
In one of the labs i do support work for, this chick created half her paper on a PC floppy, which had a bent metal shield. She EXPECTED it to work just fine in a Mac G4. Needless to say the G4 didnt recognize the floppy, since it had the paper (incomplete) that was due in an hour.
I said 'Floppies tend to die randomly, especially when it has a bent metal shield, but i'll try it out on a PC to see if the floppy loads'. The chick proceeds to totally flip out, acting like its MY fault the floppy didnt load.
Lucky for her, it loaded fine on one of our PC's, and her work was in tact. She even said 'it worked fine before, so it should always work fine no matter what machine its put in' (Referring to the floppy.
GUESS WHAT BAKA! FLOPPIES CAN AND WILL DIE WHEN YOU REALLY NEED THEM. STOP WASTING MY TIME TO FIX FLOPPY ISSUES. If i had my say, NONE of our lab machines would have floppy drives. Our university graciously provides free email, with considerable space availible. Email your selves the file. If it fits on a floppy it WONT TAKE LONG to send, even on dialup.
Also other peeves. People who try to print something, and it doesnt print, AND THEN PROCEED TO SEND 50 COPIES OF IT TO THE PRINTER, AND LEAVE. BAKA!!!

Dont ya just hate it when your car decides to die on you right as you get to where you are going? Mine did on sunday when i went to my parents house. Drive axle broke right as i got in the driveway. $900+ repair bill

| I hate allergies |

Ok, so Sunday i had 3 allergy attacks, 1 when i woke up, and very minor... just a few sneezes.
Then while Elfmoogle and I were flying her Dragon kite out in the field by our apartment, i had a 2nd allergy attack, with about 2 mins of sneezing, then it went away.
Right when i went to bed, i had the 3rd, Magnitude 8 on the Sneezy-Richter scale attack. Imagine this, sneeze 100x, have your nose dripping snot, yet be TOTALLY plugged, blow yer nose though 2ply kleenex multiple times, have absoultely heavy sinus pressure, and then try to sleep.
Lets just say it DOESNT work. I got like 2 hours of sleep sun-mon, and it showed with me being sick monday.

| Magic and Angels |

Ok, so today for the first time in months Elfmoogle and I went to go play magic at a friends. We had a good time, even though neither of us did too well. Having not played any Onslaught/Legions made me quite rusty. Even so, I managed to go 2-2. Elfmoogle went 1-3. We both played Green or Green/Red.
Anyway, watching Evangelion now. Bai! |
